New babies are such a joy - and we've loved welcoming each and every one of our children into our home! Children are a blessing, and not only do I love to welcome them into our home - but I'm one of those people who LOVES to be organized and ready for that little one. So that means, all the baby clothes are ready and waiting, the nursery has been decorated and the diapers have been bought. Out of those three, decorating the nursery is definitely my favorite "job" when we are preparing for a new little family member. I love the simple, modern look with a splash or two of color and have found some really neat ways to personalize and decorate our kids' bedrooms. A lot of my nursery inspiration is things that are personal - and mean something to us or our family. Such as putting up a meaningful Bible verse on the wall, or putting up a wall decal with their name, or once they have been born we've even ordered some peel & stick posters with pictures of our new baby or of her big brothers & sisters to add even more of a personal touch to the room. I love a fresh look and a personal look.
One of the must-haves for our nurseries has been a rocking chair. We were able to buy a beautiful second-hand rocker and I have spent many nights holding and cuddling our babies in. That rocking chair holds many memories as I've rocked and held our four children and babies in it through the years - and I can't wait to use it again! ;) Another one of the items that I could NOT live without is my baby carrier. Holding my baby with no hands is the perfect solution for a busy mother. Going shopping is 110% easier without having to lug around a carseat, and baby is always so much happier in the carrier anyways. I could go on and one about how much I love my rocking chair and my baby carriers...but I will spare you the details! :) Just let me say that these two items are worth spending the $$$$ on!!
Let's talk about decorating that baby room again! One of our go-to places to browse and shop for baby items is Sears. Sears has a lot of great nursery and baby items that fit well into our decorating styles! I love their furniture - it's simple and sleek. And the crib blankets, skirts, sheets and mobiles are just the perfect products to add that splash of blue or pink to your room. In fact, Sears is going to be having their Newborn Nesting Event right away! Starting on September 6, 2013 Sears will be offering some fabulous benefits for those who shop at Sears. If you spend the following amounts on any baby gear, baby furniture and infant fashions (in other words, all things baby!!) you will get:
Spend $200 and get a $25 cash card
Spend $300 and get a $50 cash card
Spend $400 and get a $100 cash card
The event will be on from September 6-18, 2013 so you have about 1 1/2 weeks to get your nursery and baby shopping done at Sears! These cash cards work similarly to a gift card and you'll have from October 7-31 to redeem it at Sears.
This is a national offer (excludes Vancouver). Excludes items ending in 0.97, Carter's and OshKosh. Sears is running an alternate offer in Vancouver only at this time where customers save 15% on all nursery furniture, baby gear and infant fashions.
Are you READY for this?!?! Sears is giving away a beautiful, brand new, 3-piece nursery valued at approximately $800!
