Truth in the Tinsel ~ GIVEAWAY!

The holiday season can be so busy...too busy at times! And although I love it, I truly don't want to get so 'lost' in all the busy-ness that we forget about the true meaning of the season...and that we "forget" to do anything meaningful with our children. There is so much focus on presents, decorating, yummy Christmas goodies, etc. that sometimes the simple meaning of the season just gets lost.

This year I am SO excited to try something new with our kids! I love the idea of teaching them about the meaning of Christmas...but it's hard to find a way to do this that is interesting, relevant and fun for little minds and little hands. When I first discovered Truth in the Tinsel, I knew that it was just what I had been looking for! Truth in the Tinsel is an Advent experience for little hands, and it is an amazing way to make sure God's Word, and the meaning of Christmas are the focus of your home.

For each day of Advent, Truth in the Tinsell has a Scripture reading, ornament crafts, talking points and extension activities. It comes complete with the templates you need for some of the crafts and a few extra fun printables. I love it. The crafts are so sweet and range from fuzzy, little sheep to an egg-carton inn. They are crafts that you can easily make at home without purchasing hardy any additional supplies. I believe I only purchased 1 or 2 small items in preparation for the crafts - and I got those at the thrift store for a few dollars. It is completely do-able...even for a busy mom of 4 children, like myself. :)

Besides the crafts (which kids are all bound to love!), I also truly appreciated having the other details laid out and ready to go for each day. It makes it a lot more appealing for me if I have the Scripture reading and some suggested topics to talk about all laid out and right in front of me. And I must say...the topics and Scriptures are perfect for helping us keep our hearts focused on the birth of Christ.

We are beyond excited to begin Truth in the Tinsel with our children. Everything is organized and ready to go, and I have a feeling that it will help to make this one of our favorite, and most meaningful Christmases yet!

Truth in the Tinsel has a fabulous blog - that is full of great ideas and updates (I think there's even a giveaway going on over there right now!) You'll also want to join the Facebook community where a bunch of us Truth in the Tinsel fans do the book together during Advent (uploading pictures of crafts, conversations with our kids, asking questions, giving tips, etc.) In addition to the Truth in the Tinsel e-book, you can also buy printable ornaments and a NEW Spanish version of the book as well!

If you are looking for a way to make Christmas more meaningful this year, I would definitely recommend taking a peek at Truth in the Tinsel. It is totally affordable and (especially with the discount code below!) and is the perfect way to keep our focus heaven-bound.

My 6 yr old son. I have been trying to get across the meaning of Christmas since he was little and I try to keep gift giving to a low roar, so this would be right up our alley.

I would love to do Truth in the Tinsel with my 4 kids - age 2-13. Having a scripture and craft/ornament to do with them every day helps keep them focused on the true meaning of the season - even amid thousands of commercials for more stuff!

I would LOVE this for my 4 boys - ages 7 to 20 months. We have done the Jesse Tree the past several years but I think this would be more on their level.
