DK Discovery Day ~ English Made Easy ~ GIVEAWAY!

I recently heard it said that "When it comes to school, you should be spending the majority of your time learning two things - Math and English." Hmmm...that was the first time I'd heard that, but you know what? It really IS TRUE! After all, the two skills that our kids will be using every day for the rest of their lives are math skills and English skills. If you want to have a good future career? You need to know your math, and you need to know your English. You want to get into university, college, or even just get a job at a local restaurant? Math & English are necessities again! They are a huge part of our lives, and I believe that it is incredibly important to have a good grasp on these two subjects.

DK Canada has a great line of English Made Easy workbooks that are ideal for helping children get started in learning English. This new series from DK Canada covers all the important topics such as reading, writing, spelling and grammar. It is quite thorough and is a great way to help your kids boost their English skills.


We started out with English Made Easy Kindergarten for our son and it has been great. One of his favorite parts is being able to keep track of what he has done on a progress chart. He can make note of his scores, as well as reward himself with some shiny gold stars for a job well done! In the younger grades, it might help to have Mom or Dad be around for this part so all the gold stars don't get "awarded" at once! *wink* This aspect of the book, does add a special touch and make the kids feel special & excited about learning as they can SEE their progress!

Another aspect of English Made Easy that I LOVE is that it supports Canadian Curriculums! No more confusing your kids with those American/Canadian spelling words that can be spelled two different ways. The workbook also includes an answer key in the back as well as some really helpful Parents' Notes which explain common pitfalls and how to avoid them. These workbooks are a great tool to help re-enforce what your children are learning in school, to use as extra practice for homeschooling families, etc. They are a great resource for Canadian families!
