Celebrate summer! ~ GIVEAWAY!!

In the midst of all the busy-ness of the summer months, don't forget to "press pause" and enjoy the many moments to celebrate! Hallmark wants to help you celebrate...weddings, babies, graduations and more!

Maybe a baby you know is celebrating his or her first birthday. The cake plush is sure to delight and entertain the little one-year old! Embroidered with "My 1st Birthday" and embellished with a candle that lights up on top, the plush "cupcake" is brightly decorated in a gender-neutral colour scheme. When the button is pressed, it plays "Happy Birthday" (the song is a little bit tinny sounding, but still cute). My kids thought it was fun, and the 18-month old especially enjoyed it. Also for babies (or baby showers), Hallmark offers baby bibs, specially labelled photo frames (for 1st birthday), a Good Night Fairy or Dragon that can hang over the child's bed to keep them safe and secure all night.

For the parent expecting a 2nd or subsequent child, the book "What's That in Mommy's Tummy" would be a great idea. This recordable book features open-ended prompts such as "What do babies do all day and night?" and "What do you think the baby in Mommy's tummy looks like?" so the older sibling can think about the new baby. Wouldn't this be a great book to read and play back when both children are a bit older?

It will soon be graduation time... from scrapbook and photo albums to autograph monkeys, not forgetting the graduation flip flops and the Moo-Lah money/gift card holder - there's sure to be something that suits a graduate you know! We think the flip flops, with "Class of 2012 - Hello World! ready for the next step" on them are very clever! :)

Wedding season has begun...we know 4 couples who are getting married this summer and into the early fall. It can be a challenge to find a suitable gift. You can't go wrong with photo album in which to keep those special photos, and Hallmark has several in their collection. The fabric albums are luxuriously decorated, the embroidered large post bound album includes magnetic photo pages (which are also available separately if more are needed). For the couples who are less into embellishments and more into modern and simple, the leather albums might be just the thing.

The New Life Together collection includes his and hers travelling mugs, Mr. and Mrs. aprons, and lovebirds salt and pepper shakers, as well as a tea towel set. Salt and pepper shakers are a traditional Dutch wedding gift (my husband is Dutch) and we've been known to look for a unique set to give to couples we know. The lovebirds set is very cute without being over the top and very suitable for any new couple.

There are also items that would be great for anniversary gifts, including some that are specifically for milestone anniversaries (maybe we'll find something for my parents' 40th this summer??!!)

Of course, there is always a great greeting card selection for all of these events, and more. There are some new designs for the season that look absolutely fabulous!
