Comfortable feet!! ~ GIVEAWAY!!

It can be tricky to find a set of footwear that fits many occasions. Especially in the winter, you usually have to wear boots and carry shoes with you. And now, in this muddy, slushy spring weather, who knows what you should wear?! :)

My husband Richard has been trying out a new pair of boots...and really, this is where you have to ask yourself, are they boots or are they shoes? You see, they function as both very successfully. Yes, they are Blundstones! (ooh, ahh)

Blundstone is a family-owned company, started in 1870. Their boots are well-known for their quality and durability, and I must say that what we have experienced from Richard's pair certainly underlines that. They make unisex boots for children and adults that are highly practical, while still being stylish. One signature feature of Blundstone boots is their pull tabs...and no laces. This makes it really easy for everyone (including kids) to put on the boots and take them off quickly.


Blundstone boots are manufactured in a variety of styles and colours and Richard was quite pleased to receive his pair. He tried them on right away, and has worn them almost exclusively since! This has meant that he didn't have to take another pair of footwear with him to work (well, except when he had to go into the area that requires steel-toed boots - did you know that Blundstones has a selection of CSA Steel Toe Safety Boots? I know that these are high on his wish list!) The boots were warm enough for driving in the cold car, walking across the windy and cold parking lot, but also cool enough to wear all day inside the office without his feet overheating. A feature he has been glad for many times is that Blundstones are waterproof...and there are fewer seams, which means that there are less places for water to attempt a sneaky entry! Walking in the snow, slush, puddles etc has always been successful! Granted, you have to treat your boots with a leather conditioner before you wear them, and regularly retreat to protect the leather and prolong the life of the boots.

More than all these practical features, though, the Blundstones are comfortable! They come with an extra foot bed so you can adjust the fit to your foot. Each part of the boot is soft and forms to the foot. The leather isn't stiff and there are no pressure points - from the first time Richard put them on, his feet did a little happy dance! :) Walking for long distances has been great - they've encouraged him to go with his colleagues on the "lunch time walk" outside in whatever conditions presented. They've also been great in an industrial setting.
