Stacking it up! GIVEAWAY!

It's usually easy enough to find gifts for people who make you a list of suggestions. But what about those little people - babies and toddlers - who can't tell you what they really enjoy? I always find it hard when we're looking for a present; you have to keep track of the right age, and still get something fun, and I prefer to get (and receive) something that will be used for a while, and not only with one purpose either.

MySmartToys is a company based in Montreal. They specialize in a wide range of educational wooden toys, specially designed to develop a child’s motor skills, concentration, attentiveness, and visual accuracy. All toys they carry are made by well-known manufacturers. The range of toys is intended for kids of different age groups starting with toddlers up to preschool children. You can find toys from brands like Melissa & Doug, Imagiplay and Kidkraft.

Annalies was sent a Geometric Stacker (by Melissa & Doug). All 3 of our children (ages 6, 3 and 1) have played with this since we received it, as well as the 2 children I babysit (ages 4 and 2). It seems to be versatile enough for everyone. The older children are able to stack the pieces in order of size, while the younger children stack however they want. Of course, Annalies just takes the pieces off their pegs and spreads them around the room! But she has lots of fun while she's doing it! Even I am getting pretty good at restacking the pieces in order! :)

The 3 stacks are made from squares, circles and octagons of decreasing size. The 25 pieces are all made from wood, and painted in vibrant colours. In addition to stacking and unstacking the pieces, you could also sort by size or colour or count the pieces. Squares and octagons could be used in constructions (which is why I have such a hard time keeping all the pieces together!)

Other toys available at MySmartToys include peg or knob puzzles, play food, outdoor toys, arts and crafts supplies and kits and dolls. Prices are reasonable, gift wrapping is included, and shipping on purchases over $60 is free within Canada!

BUY IT!

MySmartToys is offering Glimpse readers a 15% discount on all purchases! Use the code 1YU7RT at checkout. No minimum purchase and no expiry!

WIN IT!

You could win a Geometric Stacker like the one mentioned above! To enter, please visit MySmartToys and comment on your favourite toy. Contest open to Canada only and ends December 6, 2011.
