Rubbermaid Glass - Yes, GLASS!! GIVEAWAY!

Rubbermaid products have certainly been used in our home for quite a while. We love their tote boxes, their plastic kitchen storage, and especially their animal-proof garbage can we're using outside!! Rubbermaid offers a wide variety of products designed to help us be more organized at home - now if only the stuff would somehow magically jump into the containers!

Recently, Rubbermaid brought out a new kind of container, to expand on their Easy-Find lid collection.  The idea behind the Easy-Find lid series is that the lids snap together, and also to the bottom of the container they fit, so they're always right where you need them. No more rummaging through the lid collection trying to find the lid you need!

The new Glass with Easy-Find lids follow the same principle. Yes, you read that right - GLASS!!! The containers, available in different sizes, are made from tempered glass and are oven (up to 425F), microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe. Bases and lids neatly nest inside each other for compact organization in your cabinets. A built-in gasket creates a leak proof seal. Lids and of course the bases are BPA-free.

Julie's Take:

I am a big fan of glass storage containers, except when they fall on my tile floor. I really like how these can store leftovers, and go right into the microwave for warming up - they've been really handy for my husband to take his lunch to work, as there's no need to bring a separate plate or bowl for the warming up. They clean really easily in the dishwasher, the only thing is you have to remove the seal before you put the lids in (top rack only). I like that there are different sizes available. I also like that the containers can go right on the table and look like servingware (less dishes to wash!).

in the cupboard - lids are easy to find
One thing I noticed is that the lids are quite a big bigger around than the dish, so it takes up a bit more room in the fridge than what I was expecting. This is especially a problem if your fridge is on the full side! Containers stack nicely in the cupboard, because the bottom is smaller than the top, but they take up a little more room in the fridge because of that as well (the top is bigger than the bottom).

in the fridge - leftovers are easy to see
but the dishes take up a bit more space
Andrea's Take:

I am a HUGE fan of glass storage containers as well! So these new Rubbermaid Glass storage solutions have been a perfect addition to my kitchen! I love that I can pour HOT foods/liquids into them without worrying about the container melting. :) They are very versatile and are easy to stack and store whether they are in use or out of use! Another feature is that the lids fit on easily, and seal the container - so no leaking if you tip it sideways or even upside down.

Of course another benefit of glass is that you can easily see what is in the containers. As Julie mentioned, they do use up more space in the fridge, however, I often stack other containers misc. containers or items on top and it always seems to fit! :)
WIN IT!!

One lucky Glimpse reader will win a package that provides a variety of sizes of Rubbermaid Glass with a retail value of $35. To enter, please visit Rubbermaid and tell us what you think you will like best about the Rubbermaid Glass containers. Contest open to Canada only and ends November 30, 2011.
