Label your Stuff!! GIVEAWAY!!

So - for those of you with kids in school: how many times have they lost something this year already? We've gone looking for 1 mitten and 1 water bottle, happily both were found. Have you ever taken a peek into the "Lost and Found" box? I was surprised at the beginning of last year, when we were also looking for a mitten, how much stuff was in the box already. And I was surprised at what the stuff was too - nice new gym shoes (singles and pairs), whole gym bags full of gym kit, backpacks, socks...REALLY! If the stuff was just labelled, it could easily find its way back to the owner - schools really don't want to collect the children's stuff and donate it at the end of the year.

But labelling isn't as easy as it sounds. Not everything can be written on, and pen/marker eventually fades over time and washing. Plus, who has time to write on each and every item? There is an easier way:

Some Back to School packs include labels and tags of different colours and with preselected graphics, based on a theme, such as sporty or transportation. Others are colour-themed, with choice of icon. Jonathan chose the "Sporty'" pack. I really liked that we could see examples of the product before we ordered  - and if you go to a product page (not in a pack), there's even a preview function so you can see what your chosen text and icon look like. Colours are bright, text is clearly printed and easy to read, and the graphic helps to make it more "my own."

I really can't say enough about how pleased we are with the labels. They are easy to apply, and they STICK!!! We've attached them to rubber boots, shoes, jackets and hoodies, water bottles, a USB stick and more. It's been several weeks now, and they are just as stuck as when we started.

In fact, we were so pleased with the labels that we ordered a 2nd set for Daniel (who also wanted his name on everything!). This set was separate from the review (we purchased it), and I was pleased to note the efficient ordering process, including purchase and shipping confirmation emails. I was really impressed with the speed of the order, especially since it was slightly modified from the original pack. You see, Daniel's favourite colour is orange, and the mono-chromatic Back to School packs come in blue, red and black. I checked, and as long as they have labels of the colour you choose, colour changes are possible, and for no extra charge!! So we ordered a red pack, asked in the comments if it could be orange instead, and Daniel is THRILLED!!

Specialty logos are also a possibility; just arrange this by email in advance.

The bag tags are a great idea - and it's really handy to have 2 in the set. We used 1 for the backpack and 1 for the gym bag. These are items that typically it would be harder to stick a label on, but the bag tag attaches with a ball-chain (included), so can go on anywhere there's a loop (ie zipper, handle, strap etc). Super easy!

I know the main Back to School rush is over, but really, if you don't have your child's stuff labelled, you should really consider it. There are enough labels in a set to cover many many items, or to last for a few years of labelling. You can also purchase items separately of course.
