Keeping it Healthy ~ GIVEAWAY!

There are piles of things that we can do these days to create a healthier lifestyle for ourselves and our families! And it seems that these sorts of products are slowly becoming more available and more accepted - which is SO great! We've made a lot of steps in our own home to make it a better environment...and even little things make a big difference sometimes. :) One thing that I haven't been able to get away from though is all my plastic storage containers! They're so handy...and well, with young kids who know how to open the fridge I'm not about to store things in glass all the time. NoPlastic.ca recently gave us a third option though! We received a 12cm airtight stainless steel food storage container. It has been wonderful! No plastic, no lid that slips of easily, and it's not even breakable! The lid snaps on nice and tight - and even if you drop the container on the floor when it's filled with, say, something like runny soup...it won't open, leak or spill. Let's just say it's the perfect solution for a mom like me who's prone to dropping things. ;) Besides all that, stainless steel is a much safer option for storing your food in than plastic. The stainless steel containers come in a variety of sizes as well starting at 8cm (perfect for storing snacks or baby food!) to 26cm (which is great for bread, watermelon etc.). If you're like me and you like to be able to SEE what's inside your containers without opening them all, the stainless steel containers can be written on with a non-permanent marker so you'll know what's inside without having to take a peek. I've found that our airtight stainless steel container keeps things fresh, and tasty and is great for both the freezer and the fridge. They would be a great addition to any kitchen!
