Sometimes when I come across a website, I just know I have to write about it. That's how I felt when I found Oma Mary.
Oma Mary is a great little organization run by an Oma and her Granddaughter. They make beautiful receiving blankets to sell, but also to donate to those who could use a little love. For every purchase that is made, they donate to various organizations from Haiti (which is very near and dear to many hearts at this time) to Rankin Inlet, and of course, in between!
I purchased this argyle receiving blanket for our expected little one, and I have to say I'm very impressed. These blankets come ready to give as a gift, and you can see the love and care that has gone into every stitch. The edges of the blanket are neatly crocheted to give it a handmade touch.
The other thing that you will notice about these blankets is the size! These are not typical receiving blankets that you can purchase in a store. They are approximately 1 meter square (39 inches square for our American readers) which is plenty big enough to swaddle even an older baby. They also make toddler size blankets which would be perfect for that move out of the crib into a big boy/girl bed.
I would like to encourage each and every one of our readers to support Oma Mary, either by purchasing a blanket, or donating money or fabric to them. You can find in the information regarding donations here, on their website. To make a purchase, you can visit their Etsy shop here.
Oma Mary has graciously offered to give away a beautiful receiving blanket and set of burp cloths to one lucky Glimpse reader! This set is the blue set pictured above. In order to get one entry, please leave us a comment letting us know which is your favorite item available in Oma Mary's Etsy shop.
