Tiny Giggles ~ GIVEAWAY!

I will be the first to admit that being a mom requires a lot of energy and brainpower somedays. :) I mean after all...mothers pretty much have to do any and all jobs at one point in time, right? You know, jobs like: cook, coach, counsellor, detective, taxi driver, stain specialist, hair stylist, maid, playmate, dietician etc. Not to mention mommies must be available 24 hours a day. ;) However, I'll also be the first to tell you that I'd never want ANY other job...ever! Moms definitely have one of the most challenging but most rewarding jobs around, and this great t-shirt from Tiny Giggles points this out in a fun and unique way. It's got a "dictionary definition" of Mother on the back...along with the REAL definition of mother. ;) On the front it simply says "Mother" in dictionary style. It's simple, fun, 100% truthful :) and great for a giggle or two as well! I love my new "Mother t-shirt" and will take full advantage of wearing it until my growing belly gets too big to fit in it. It actually works really well as a maternity shirt so far I've found! The sizes are on the bigger side so you don't have to worry about receiving a shirt that is too small. I also am a huge fan of the fact that it is made out of bamboo fabric. I LOVE bamboo...there are so many benefits to bamboo clothes/products! Tiny Giggles also offers another fun t-shirt for eco-friendly moms. Most Mothers I know rarely buy things for themselves...mostly they shop for everyone else. :) So why not head over and buy a Mother t-shirt for your well-deserving Mom!

Tiny Giggles also carries a pile of other great products! Their shop is packed full of wonderful, eco-friendly products for the babies, toddlers, and parents. You're sure to find a great selection of quality and eco-friendly products for the whole family!

WIN IT!
Tiny Giggles would LOVE to give one of our moms their own "Mother" shirt in the size of their choice. In order to get one entry, head over to Tiny Giggles and let me know what you loved.

Cushy Tushy Designs ~ GIVEAWAY!

When it comes to keeping your hair out of your eyes, a clip is usually the easiest solution! Emily loooves her clips and will point to them and "ask" for one first thing in the morning...guess she's really not a fan of her curly locks hanging in her eyes. ;) We recently received an envelope full of cute Tuxedo Bows from Cushy Tushy Designs! My favorite part about her website is the amount of ribbon choices you have...and I love that for certain listings you can choose exactly which styles/colors of ribbon you'd like in your set of clips! It was wonderful to be able to pick a few colors of clips that we were lacking...and a few Christmas ones too. Every hair clip comes complete with no slip grip and heat sealed ends to prevent fraying. The tuxedo bow on top of the clip adds a little extra flair too - especially with the solid colors. My only issue with the clips was that there was extra hot glue gun strands/residue on the clips when they arrived...which caused a bit of an issue when we first tried to use them. Other than that though, the tuxedo bows stay in Emily's hair very well and as I said...I love that you can get them in a rainbow of colors! :)

Cushy Tushy Designs also has a TON of other products and accessories for you to check out. Why not take a peek at their huge selection of Korker Bows? Or their headbands? You're sure to find something sweet for the little girl in your life. :) Cushy Tushy Designs is also offering a FREE headband with the purchase of any 3 listings, so if you're shopping here be sure to take advantage of that!

WIN IT!
Cushy Tushy Designs is giving one of our readers ANY set of Korkers available in her shop. In order to get one entry, head over to Cushy Tushy Designs and let me know what your favorite product is.

A Tall Giraffe ~ Final Week of Sales!

It's the final week of great sales over at A Tall Giraffe! I hope you've all had a chance to check out this great new Canadian shop.

This week the deal is on two great items. The Otterbottle and RiINGLEY Teethers. Again, I haven't personally tried either of these products, but Andrea, the WAHM behind A Tall Giraffe, has, and obviously she thought they were worth selling!

Otterbottles are made of 18/8 stainless steel, which is, in my opinion, the best material for a reusable water bottle. Stainless steel is easy to clean, doesn't need any kind of liner, and is totally safe. Otterbottles also come in great designs, which makes it fun to use and carry around with you.

RiNGLEY teethers are made from organic terry cloth and untreated maple wood, making them a great safe teething toy. This is also a Canadian made teether, which is definitely worth mentioning.

PURCHASE IT!
A Tall Giraffe is offering a 10% discount on Otterbottles and RiNGLEY teethers this week! Bonus, if you become a Facebook fan, you will receive an extra 5% off, for a total of 15% off. Sale ends November 29th.

PS. Once A Tall Giraffe reaches 100 fans on Facebook, there will be a draw for a bag of Rockin Green Detergent. I think we can make this work! Just make sure that once you become a fan, you head over to the discussion board to enter!

Inspired By Lou ~ GIVEAWAY!

When it comes to the winter months...or even fall and spring for that matter...I'm always looking for ways to keep my kids warm. Ways that are fun, unique and better than wearing long underwear every day! haha. :) Inspired By Lou recently send Emily a sweet pair of Lous Legs. I definitely prefer these handmade Lous Legs over the usual BabyLegs that we've all heard about. They're made out of thick, soft fabric, they fit perfectly and are not overly tight (I always found the babylegs to be a tad on the tight side...yes, even on my skinny kids! :) ) and are as cute as can be. We use our Lous Legs under skirts or dresses, or just for lounging around the house...it sure makes diaper changes a lot quicker. Once the REAL cold weather hits we will also be using our Lous Legs underneath pants for extra warmth...it's warm enough for the quick trips and so much easier and less bulky than snow pants! Lous Legs are made to fit from the hip to the foot from newborn until 2 yrs. old, and you can still use them after that too. They're great for wearing from the knee to foot or even arm bands. Lous Legs are comfy, cute and versatile - a perfect idea for a stocking stuffer!

Another fabulous, unique and very useful product that Inspired By Lou creates is the Ouch-Ease Pouches! Have you ever noticed that all of the hot or cold pads you can normally buy are sized for adults? I know I find them way too big and bulky for my little ones. Inspired by Lou has come up with a fabulous set of 2 pouches which are about 3" in diamter. They are filled with white rice and are covered in soft, cozy flannel. They can be heated in the microwave for coughs or congestion or cooled in the freezer for bumps, fevers or hot summer days! You'll need to be careful not to get these precious pouches wet though...but if you are worried about it getting wet, you can simply heat or cool the pouch and put it in a small ziploc bag and it works just as great. We love our Ouch-Ease Pouches. They're perfect for our kids - and even for us Mommies and Daddies too. :)

Check out the selection of other great products that Inspired By Lou offers...you'll find tons of great ideas for stocking stuffers or unique and fun Christmas gifts!

WIN IT!
Inspired By Lou is giving one lucky reader a $20 gift certificate! In order to get one entry, head over to Inspired By Lou and let me know (specifically!) what your favorite item is.

Rainshine Designs

I love finding diapers that work well, but don't give my daughter a big bubble butt. It may sound somewhat impossible, finding a trim cloth diaper, but they do exist!

We were sent a Rainshine Designs One-Size All-in-2 diaper to try with Bria, and this is the trimmest diaper we've tried for sure! It has a snap-in extra long soaker, so you can fold it for extra absorbency where needed. At first I thought that would make it appear bulky, but not at all! Bria can wear her little jeans and you would never know that she's in a cloth diaper.

Rainshine Designs AI2 diapers are also plenty absorbent. Bria has worn the diaper for her nap several times with no leaks. And of course, when she's awake that's not a problem either. If extra absorbency is needed, the extra doubler is wonderful.

I wanted to try the One-Size diaper simply because we have another baby on the way, and I want to get as much use out the diaper as possible. The AI2 is not really meant to be used on a newborn, but I think with a little creativity, I might just use it as a cover with prefolds for the first few weeks. There are sized diapers available as well, which would be an even trimmer option!

I have to say, after having a chance to try Rainshine Designs One-Size AI2, I would gladly choose it over GroBaby, which is a similar style of diaper. The fit and absorbency are a much better fit for us. The fact that they are made by a fellow Canadian mom makes it my first choice for sure! Make sure to check out the other products available from Rainshine Designs.

PURCHASE IT!
Rainshine Designs has offered Glimpse readers 5% off your total order! Use the code GLIMPSE09 to receive 5% off when you checkout. Expires December 31, 2009.

WIN IT!
Head over to Rainshine Designs and enter the monthly giveaway! That's right, every month Rainshine Designs gives away a diaper to one lucky entrant! You will have to register for the website, but it's free. The next deadline is December 15th, 2009 before 9 AM PST.

Change My Bummy ~ GIVEAWAY!

The world of cloth diapers and diapering supplies can seem endless! There are a million different brands, colors, options, styles, etc. out there and, well, to be honest...it takes a MOM to figure out which are the best of the best most times. :) Change My Bummy is a fabulous online shop that is run by a stay at home mom - who knows what it takes to keep those little bummy's changed, clean and healthy! We received an Indisposables Cotton Change Pad. We use it every day at home. Yeah, we're one of those families who have no room in their house for a change table! ;) So we do all the changing on our VERY colorful and fun Cotton Change Pad. It's unique from other change pads in several ways. It has a three-layered design of quilted polyester, a cotton or brushed flannel on top, and a poly/rayon centre and non-slip, waterproof nylon bottom. And they really thought it through when this change pad was created as the waterproof backing has not been quilted through - thus preventing ANY leakage! The change pad is also a great size - not too big, not too small - just right to get the job done well. It's very easy to clean and care for too. So in a nutshell - practical, fun and leak-proof is what you'll get when you buy an Indisposables Cotton Change Pad!

Change My Bummy has a great selection of cloth diapers for all occasions - swimming, sleeping, and everyday use. Plus, you'll also find tons of great accessories and a wonderful selection of laundry products as well.

WIN IT!!
Change My Bummy is giving one of our readers a FABULOUS cloth diaper (I have some of these and they are great!). One reader will win and Apple Cheeks Envelope Cover and insert. The winner can choose size 1 or 2 in the (in stock) color of their choice. In order to get one entry head over to Change My Bummy and let us know what your favorite diapering product was.

A Tall Giraffe ~ Week 3 Sales!

It's week three of the sales at A Tall Giraffe. This week they have a great offer for someone who is just starting out!

It's so handy to be able to buy a package of diapers, and be done with it. At A Tall Giraffe, you have the option of putting together your very own diaper package! There are several types of diapers to choose from, something for everyone.

Kissaluvs are great for the newborn stage, and beyond. They do come in sizes, so you can't just buy one size, but they have received good reviews. They come in the most beautiful colors as well!

GroBaby is another option, and I have personal experience with these. I love this diaper! And because it is one-size, it should fit from newborn to potty training, depending on the size of your child.

So you're probably wondering what the incentive is this week...

PURCHASE IT!
Purchase any custom diaper package from A Tall Giraffe with a value of at least $450, and receive a FREE diaper sprayer ($45 value)! This is a nifty invention that I intend to try very soon. No more dunking diapers!

Strider Running Bike ~ GIVEAWAY!

Are you ready for this? I mean...really...words can't even describe how impressed we are with the product I'm about to share with you. It's that good. And I must admit. If I could only choose ONE product to buy out of alllll the products I've ever reviewed. This would be it. Hands down. So what is it? The most fabulous bike we've ever come across - a Strider Running Bike. Allow me to gush a little bit. :) Tate loves bikes (what kid doesn't?) but he doesn't love pedals. He loves to push with his feet, but those pedals are ALWAYS in the way resulting in nasty bruises on his legs, etc. I never thought that in less than a month he would be able to ride a 2-wheeler bike ON HIS OWN. That just doesn't happen, right? At least not with a 3 yr. old! Well, it has happened and it's completely due to his new Strider Running Bike.

**This bike completely eliminates the need for tricycles or training wheels and is for a great range of riders (18 months up to 5 years).

**The Strider is light - less than 7 lbs (less than a newborn babe!, and is about 1/3 the weight of a normal bike with training wheels. Tate has absolutely ZERO trouble manipulating or lifting his bike.

**It is the only running bike with integrated Launch pad foot rests - located at just the right spot for your little one to put their feet up while gliding, or even to ride standing up.

**Strider Bikes are as safe as they could possibly be. No chains, cables, pedals...and there are no extra protrusions that can cause owies.

**The bike has a low center of gravity - making the child feel very safe, secure and most importantly, in control.

**Puncture-proof all-terrain tires which are made from moulded foam - no flats or replacements will ever be needed!

How are you enjoying my gushing?! haha. Every one of those facts is 100% true - we've tested and tried our Strider and it is incredible. With the Strider Tate can ride over curbs...through piles of leaves, on the grass, through the garden...anywhere we can walk he can ride. And to say that he LOVES it would be an understatement. :) If you're still not convinced about the worth of a Strider Running Bike check out this little video I made of Tate riding last week (note...this is the boy who can't pedal and 3 weeks ago didn't even know what balance and steering were! He doesn't lift his feet up much yet - but every once in a while he does...another few weeks and I bet he'll be gliding too! :) )

video

I am being completely honest when I say that if there ever was an outdoor toy that we'd purchase a 2nd of, it would be a Strider Bike. Emily has tried out Tate's Strider a bit too - and since she's only 18 months she's just a very wee beginner, but she begs to ride on it...however, as you can imagine, Tate is reluctant to give up his treasured bike. So I have a feeling that a 2nd Strider may be on it's way by next summer!

The Strider Running Bike truly is a remarkable toy and tool. If you want to give your kids a head start on learning balance and control of a two-wheeler, as well as giving them a vehicle to have TONS of fun with, this would be it.

WIN IT!
Strider Sports Canada is generously giving one of our readers their own Strider Running Bike (in your choice of pink or yellow)!! In order to get one entry, head over to Strider Sports Canada and let us know what your favorite color of bike is AND what your favorite feature or fact of the bike is (check out the Why Strider? page for tons of great info!) Please try to mention something that is NOT mentioned in this review.

ZigZags & Zebras ~ GIVEAWAY!

As her golden brown locks grow so does her hair clip collection. :) Our most recent addition were some beautiful designed hair clips from ZigZags & Zebras. At first glance I could see the care that had been put into creating these clips. The ends of the ribbon are heat sealed to prevent any fraying, and the ribbon styles that you can find on her Etsy shop are fabulous! There's a ribbon to match every outfit and I just love some of the unique ribbon styles that she uses...and despite Emily's growing collection of clips a lot of these ribbons I haven't seen around before.

And we love them.

You can get a variety of hair clips as well...simply ribbon clips, flower clips, boutique bows, and make sure to check out the latest addition - Pony Loops! These products from ZigZags & Zebras are just the right size for stocking stuffers too...and I'm sure every little girl would love a few more 'pretties' for her hair. :) If you'd like to see a complete line of the products carried at ZigZags & Zebras check out their blog to view a slide show of all that they offer!

Dwink it

As a mom, I'm always on the lookout for products to help prevent messes...because let's face it...with all the busy-ness of diaper changes, laundry, making meals, handing out snacks, kissing boo-boos, playing ring around the rosie 50 times in a row, etc....sometimes, I just don't feel like I have the extra time to clean up another mess. The Dwink box from Moms Finds is another great invention - simple, fun, and perfect for toddlers...or anyone who feels the urge to squeeze their drink box. ;) The Dwink box will work with any size of drink box - even the irregular sized ones (like soy milk or V-8 drink boxes for example). And of course it makes drinking the drink box a whole bunch more fun when you have a special new Dwink box to hold it in! Besides the no-mess benefit, the Dwink box is also dishwasher safe, has a non-skid bottom, and 2 handles so that your child can easily grip it and hold it securely.

A Tall Giraffe ~ Great sales!

I recently came across a brand new cloth diaper and natural parenting shop, run out of Steinbach, Manitoba. A Tall Giraffe is run by Andrea, a stay at home mom of a little guy who is in love with giraffes, hence the name of her shop.

One thing that I love about A Tall Giraffe is that the majority of their products are made in Canada. From slings to diapers, they have some great options!

Every week for the rest of November, A Tall Giraffe will be offering a special promotion of the week. You can find that information, right here, at Glimpse! Every Tuesday I'll be posting the newest deal, and you can head over to A Tall Giraffe to take advantage of the sales.

This week is cut short, as the promotion ends on Sunday. However, you do have a couple days to check it out!

Rockin' Green Detergent is a fairly new product in the cloth diaper world, but is receiving RAVE reviews! I know it's on my list of things to try. Since Andrea doesn't sell anything that she doesn't personally use and love, you can be assured that this detergent is worth it. I've heard many stories of moms who had a stinky diaper issue that was solved using Rockin' Green Detergent. I think it's worth a shot!

PURCHASE IT!
Rockin' Green Promotion: Buy any Rockin' Green Detergent and get a pail powder for 20% off!

Tthe deal gets sweeter for anyone who becomes a Facebook fan of A Tall Giraffe! Become a fan, and you will receive an extra 5% off the pail powder, for a total of 25% off!

Crazy Forts ~ GIVEAWAY!

It seems that the supply of toys in our part of the world is almost endless these days! Especially now that Christmas season is rolling around, all the stores are bringing out their biggest, best and hugest selection of every kind of toy you can imagine. But honestly? A lot of those toys probably get played with a few times and then are "boring" and are shoved in the corner or at the bottom of a toy box. It's hard to find toys that are long-lasting and that will entertain for days, and even years to come. However, these are the kinds of toys that I think most parents would love to find for their kids! We recently discovered Crazy Forts - a toy that is worth the money to buy! My kids LOVE our set of Crazy Forts and will spend hours and hours playing in their castle or crawling through the tunnel. Crazy Forts is basically a set of heavy duty balls and sticks that you put together to form igloos, houses, rocket ships, tunnels, etc. Once your creation is built just throw a bedsheet over and the fun will last for a loooong time! My favorite part about this toy is that kids have to use their imagination. Oh the things they can imagine in a castle are nearly endless. And this is exactly why the fun-ness of Crazy Forts lasts for more than a few days. Imaginations never end...and therefore, the entertainment of Crazy Forts never ends either. :)

Crazy Forts is an ingenious toy. In my books, it is the ultimate Christmas gift. What child wouldn't LOVE to get a fort that turns into a tunnel, that turns into a castle that turns into a rocket ship for Christmas?!?! And you don't even have to drag all your kitchen chairs into the living room to make this fort. ;) So if you've been wondering what to get for that niece who already has "every toy you can think of" or even for your own little one, why not check into Crazy Forts? It'll grow their imagination and provide years of fun - guaranteed. :)

WIN IT!
Crazy Forts is giving one very lucky reader their own set of Crazy Forts! In order to get one entry, let me know which Design Idea would be your child(rens) favorite!

Babies...they depend on us SO much, don't they? If it wasn't for adults, babies could never survive. And it's up to US as parents to give them what we think is best. I for one am always on the lookout for companies who care about the products they sell and Sweetpea Baby Food is one in a million when it comes to this. Sweetpea Baby Food has a wonderfully healthy and nutrient rich line of frozen baby food in both 6 and 8 month varieties. Emily tried two of varieties of Sweetpea Baby Food and loved them both. The first yummy tray of frozen baby food that we opened was Veggies, Beef & Barley. This recipe is packed full of goodness...vitamin A, iron, calcium, fats, carbohydrates, protein and fiber - all which are VERY important for the growth and development of a little one. I loved the fact that they included barley in this recipe. Did you know that barley is actually a hypoallergenic grain that almost never causes an allergic reaction? And it's tasty too...which Emily would tell too if she could talk. She gobbled up the whole tray of baby food in a few meals.

Secondly, we tried a fruit variety - Banana Blueberry. Doesn't that sound great? Both bananas and blueberries are favorite fruits in our house, so this package of food was an obvious hit with Emily as well. Banana Blueberry is in the 6 month category and would be a great one to use as a starter food with your little one. Bananas are full of natural sweetness and vitamin B6 which helps to boost your babies immune system. And blueberries are rated #1 when it comes to plants which protect against disease.

As you can tell, Sweetpea Baby Food has put a lot of thought and research into what goes into their baby food. Their ingredients have been chosen very carefully in order to provide your baby with the best possible nutrients and vitamins. And in addition to that, you can be sure that ALL their baby food is wheat free, soy free, and has no artifical flavors, colors or preservatives. There are no extra fillers, no salt, and no modified starches or sugars. It's comforting to know that what you are giving your baby is the best food you could give them and Sweetpea Baby Food gets a double thumbs up from us!

BUY IT!
Since Sweetpea Baby Food sells frozen baby food (which beats jarred or canned baby food any day!), it can't be ordered online. However, they sell their delicious baby food at a variety of stores across Canada! Just head over to their website and check out the Where to Buy section and I'm sure you'll find a shop near you that carries Sweetpea Baby Food! (P.S. While you're there take a peek at their new line of tasty organic cookies :) ).
