Prevent Those Spills!

Any mom can vouch with me on the fact that when you have toddlers eating food...they spill. :) If I happen to find time to sweep under my table it's guaranteed that the floor under there will only stay clean until the next meal. ;) Moms Finds recently sent us a fabulous, very simple, but very useful product that helps to prevent some of the spills and messes that come along with mealtime. Keeping Little Canadian Feet Warm

Well, it seems like winter is just around the bend! We've already had snow several times here...though it has all melted at the moment. But before we know it, we'll be covered in a white winter wonderland of snow for about 5 months straight! Character Is the Key

We have been parents for over 3 years now...and let's just say, that it has been an awesome, humbling, learning, tiring, and wonderful adventure so far! I can't imagine life without my kids now...and I actually wonder what I did with all my time before I had kids! haha. :) I don't usually have a lot of time to read anymore, but when I do read, I love to read books that will help me along in my parenting journey. I was excited to receive the book Character is the Key by Sara Dimerman. It focuses on such an important topic...the character of our children (and of us parents too!). I believe that a good and Godly character is one of the most important things we need to demonstrate for and teach to our children. As I read through Character is the Key I found a lot of great tips and advice - all demonstrated with real life stories! The only thing that I missed in the book, is that it was not written from a Christian persepective. I believe that having a Christ-centered home is a HUGE plus when it comes to teaching your kids postive morals and character. However, despite the fact that this book was not written from a Christian perspective, I found myself agreeing with many of the author's ideas and thoughts. One of my favorite sections was about modelling all the positive behaviors, and morals FOR your kids instead of just telling them that they should "be respectful, be honest, be fair", etc. Even though my children are only 3 and 1 year(s) old I already notice them copying the things that we do as parents. They talk like us. They want to do the things we do. They even act like us sometimes! It makes you painfully aware of the things you say or do...and it definitely makes me think twice about saying something unkind, losing my patience, etc. Character is the Key also has a great section on teaming up with your kids and becoming a close knit family unit. There are great ideas for family meetings...our kids are too young for this sort of thing right now, but they are never too young to enjoy time together as a family...going for a walk, playing at the park, or just hanging out at home.

So...to sum it all up? I'd say this is a great parenting resource for people who are looking for an unbiased, non-religious book. It has fabulous character building ideas and is easy to read and understand. In my opinion? Add the Biblical aspect of teaching character to the book and it'd receive a 10/10! :)

Socks Run Amok!!

Rowan is always asking when something will come in the mail for him. My kids love going to the mailbox with me, and the excitement builds as we go through and see who received something. More often than not, Rowan is disappointed because there is nothing there for him.

Well, imagine his DELIGHT when he received this friendly little sock lamb from Socks Run Amok! Finally something for him! He had picked out this little lamb, whom he has now named Harold, all by himself, and was super excited when he arrived!

Wayne Needs a Bath!

Taking a bath has always been fun in our house...at least when you're not the one actually being bathed! :) Our bath time has gotten a lot more fun though ever since Moms Finds sent Wayne to our house! Last year I had the privilege of trying out a Gurumama pouch sling as well as a Gurumama ring sling. Here is the review I posted.

Gurumama was started from a mother's desire to have all of the best sling features available in one sling. Jennifer McRae King is a mom, just like us, who saw the need for function and flare in baby wearing. She has designed some very funky slings!

I was lucky to be able to try both a pouch and a ring sling.

The pouch is absolutely gorgeous! It reverses from a vibrant print to a rich chocolate brown. I definitely got a few compliments while wearing this pouch!

The stretch cotton makes for a very comfortable fit. I also found the seam pocket to be a great feature. It's just the right size for those smaller things you need to take with you.

I love pouches for their simplicity and ease of use. Gurumama pouches are a great option for the mom on the go.





Having never had the chance to use a heavier weight ring sling before, I I definitely wasn't used to the extra bulk on my shoulder, but after I wore it for a while, I found it to be very comfortable and I was able to wear Bria for over an hour while she slept. I also noticed the extra weight of the tail while putting the sling on, but once Bria was in the sling, I hardly noticed at all. I liked knowing that the sling was super strong and would easily support a growing child.

The tail pocket on the ring sling is a great feature. It is a very generous size, and could easily hold a couple diapers and some wipes! Or just toss in your keys and wallet and you're ready for a shopping trip.

Itsy Bitsy Baby

A few months ago I had the privilege of doing a review for the Itsy Bitsy Baby Gift Shop. That was when I was introduced to the reminder wheel. I hadn't heard of their Reminder Wheel before that, but since then I have been using it a LOT. When you have a ton of things on the go it can be difficult keeping track of the time. I would constantly look at the clock asking myself things like - when was he fed last? When was he changed last? etc. I liked to do everything routinely by the min/hour. Yes, I do like my lists and routines lol.It helps to remind you of when each of these things happened last. NORWEX ~ 1st Year Anniversary Celebration Giveaway

I recently went to a Norwex home party. I just loved all the neat cleaning products they had to offer. They provide environmentally friendly cleaning products such as toilet bowl cleaners, stain removers, laundry detergents, mattress sprays and for the kitchen they had micro fiber towels and sponges.

I loved the spirisponge. I have used them in the past and I just can't live without them. It helps to kill 99.4% of bacteria and they dry out a lot quicker than the regular sponge, which also helps to prevent bacteria and germs from setting in the usually damp areas. The outer covering has a silver in color scratch safe covering. It helps get caked on food from dishes and pots and pans, but are still gentle enough on enamel surfaces such as certain sinks and stove tops and other appliances.

Does Your Shoe Fly? ~ GIVEAWAY!

It's always been interesting finding shoes for Tate. :) Not only do most retail stores have basically no selection for boys (how come the girls get all the cute shoes?? lol :) ), but Tate also has a very narrow foot...and well, most shoes are just made to fit wider feet since that is usually the norm.
