Cloth diapering always seems to go better when you have diapers that work well. And if you have more than one child in diapers at a time, you more than likely have looked into buying one size diapers. We've been LOVING the one size (OS) diaper we got from Baby Be Blessed!

My favorite type of diaper is a fitted diaper, and the Chocolate Brown Bamboo Velour OS diaper from Baby Be Blessed does not disappoint! We've used it both during the day and night, and have no complaints at all!

The one size feature may come in handy in the future, if we are blessed with another little one, but for now, Bria wears it at the largest setting. I was really looking forward to this review a few months ago. I was expecting our third baby, and was remembering the awful time I had keeping my belly covered, and my pants from falling down! Moms & Bums sent a Bella Band my way, but before it reached my door, I sadly lost our little one.

Some things are just Super Duper ~ AND A GIVEAWAY!

It's no secret that we're BIG advocates of cloth diapers. I mean, what's not to love? They're cheap, better for the environment and for my kids, they're much more comfy, etc. Plus, there's SO much out there to help a cloth diapering mom along that (besides a few extra loads of laundry) it's just as easy as using disposables. One thing that I have had trouble finding in the past though are good night diapers for Tate. It seemed that most of the ones I was using leaked and just weren't made to hold the massive amount of pee that my 2 yr. old produced at night! But I have found a diaper that is working! (cheer!!!) The diaper is incredibly soft too, so I'm sure it must feel so cozy on his 'lil bum. ;) The Night Diaper fits from 15lbs to 40lbs - so that means I could even use it on my 9 month old if I'd like. Super Duper Diapers also sent a leak proof diaper cover. This is the first diaper cover (that's not PUL or Fleece) that I've found that does the job well and keeps your little one's pj's/clothes and bedding totally dry. It has never leaked...not even once! Now that's impressive when you have a son who has pencil thin legs and an almost equally skinny waist. :) I'm certain that the reason this cover works so well is because it is adjustable! The two rows of snaps allow a better adjustment at the waist and at the leg and prevent all those nasty leaks.

Now, if you're new to all this cloth diapering stuff and are afraid of changing those dreaded poopy diapers, there is a solution for you too! Super Duper Diapers also carries biodegradable diaper liners. This thin sheet of polypropylene allows for quick and easy disposal of that icky stuff. I love the ease of using disposable diaper liners in my sons cloth diapers...makes for a much easier clean-up!

Keeping Little Butts Covered

We've tried a lotta lotta lot of cloth diapers in this house. Prefolds, fitteds, flats, pockets. But up until now I had never tried an all-in-one diaper. I honestly didn't think they were worth the extra money. Until now!

I had the chance to try BB Butts AIO cloth diapers, and I have to say, I might just be converted :) Not to mention, they come at a great price! $13 for small, $15 for medium, and $17 for large. The sizing is very generous too. Bria has tons of room to grow into the large, and she is 18 months old and 30 pounds.

AIO diapers are a nice addition to any cloth diaper stash, and BB Butts are a great Canadian made option. They are turned, but not top-stitched, so you won't get red marks on your little ones thighs. It does make the inner fabric roll out a bit, but it's not a big deal to roll it back in when you put the diaper on. You can purchase an extra doubler for those times when you need a little extra absorbency.

BB Butts also offers thick, soft cloth wipes and a wipes solution to go with them. The wipes are nice and big, for those really messy clean ups! And the wipes solution adds a nice touch when trying to get that bottom clean. I mean, you wouldn't wash your hands without soap, would you? Why wash a bum with just water?

I had a chance to try a maxi pad, a mini pad, and a pantyliner. I love them all! I think my favorite feature of the pads is the liner with wings. It provides awesome protection from side leaks. Anyone who has ever used disposable pads will know that they suck at protecting you from leaks. Cloth is surprisingly much better at this! I pretty much never have leaks with cloth.

You may feel that the initial cost of Lunapads sounds expensive. But when you break it down and figure out how much you spend on disposable products each month, you could easily spread the cost of Lunapads over a year or two. And the Lunapads will last much longer than that, making them a money saver in the end.

Here in our cloth diaper filled home, we've recently discovered one of the best cloth diaper products EVER. And it's really the simplest thing too! Fleece Diaper covers. Just Relax ~ AND A GIVEAWAY!

The inky inky spider went up the water spout

My big boy is a tshirt lover. He would rather wear a tshirt in the middle of winter than a sweater. So, I like to find tshirts that suit him and his little personality. We recently received a great new tshirt from inkyspider.

Dreaming in a Pogy

Sleep, sweet sleep. With 2 young kids, this is one thing that I can always use more of! ;) Since we only have two bedrooms on our main floor, things have been a bit tricky sleep-wise since Emily was born last May. We didn't think that our 2 year old would do very well sleeping in a room with a baby who woke up every couple of hours, so we re-arranged our bedroom to make room for Emily. As she grew, and grew, and grew, Emily outgrew the cradle we had her in...so now what? There's wasn't really room for the crib, and the playpen would have been do-able, but not ideal. Smelling sweet and clean ~ And a Giveaway!

Andrea and I are both cloth diaper fanatics, if you hadn't already figured that out! And of course, we love to try new things too. There are all kinds of fun accessory type things that can add to your cloth diapering experience, and we both got the chance to try some of them out! This is a bit of a combined review of the products we received from Natural Parenting Shop and Moms and Bums. These shops are both owned and operated by Tanya Bell. Natural Parenting shop sells only Canadian made products, and Moms and Bums carries a variety of products from the US and Canada. You will find Andrea's thoughts in purple and mine in red.

Shortly after starting cloth diapers, I realized that it only made sense to use cloth wipes as well. It was a pain to try to remember to take the disposable wipes out of the messy diaper before throwing it in the pail. I have used a few different kinds of wipes, but I think I have found a new favorite! Monkey Doodlez Terry Velour Wipes are super soft and gentle on little bottoms. I got the wipes warmer size, and found they are a great size. They fit nicely into my wipes wet bag, and the old wipes container I use to store my wipes.

We are BIG fans of anything reusable in our house. Reusable not only means that it's better for the environment, but it's better for our checkbook too! :) We have been using reusable wipes for over two years now and they are wonderful! I recently received a few more cloth wipes from Natural Parenting Shop. Monkey Doodlez cloth wipes are both absorbent and soft and I found they worked wonderful. They're perfect for using at home, but not too big to pack in your diaper bag either!

Something I had never tried before, and really hadn't thought that I needed, was wipes cubes. I figured it was just an extra thing that didn't serve much of a purpose. Well, I'm happy to say that I was wrong! I won't be without my wipes cubes now! They add the extra oomph needed to smoothly clean a stinky little bum. I really appreciated that the Monkey Doodlez wipes cubes are SLS free, and made with natural ingredients. It makes me feel good about adding this solution to the wipes! I did find that the water had to very hot to make the cubes dissolve quickly, so just make sure to let it cool before using it.

Along with our new cloth wipes we tried out some wipes cubes for the first time. Typically we just used water to clean those little bottoms, however I must admit - I'm enjoying using the solution that these handy little wipes cubes made! It is extremely easy to make...just add warm water. I love the fact that these are also made with all natural ingredients, and that they are made with mild ingredients as well (no strong scents, etc.) They really are perfect for that tender baby skin!

The third product that we got to try was Pail Pals. These little discs pack a powerful punch in a stinky pail! It's nice to open your diaper pail and get a whiff of cinnamon rather than stinky diapers :) A great accessory to have to make cloth diapering a little more pleasant.

There was also a second cloth diapering accessory that we tried for the first time this week. Pail Pals. They are SO nice for keeping that dirty diaper odor at bay! Not to mention that they are quick and easy to use...just slip one into the slot in your diaper pail, and voila! A much nicer scent will be coming from that diaper pail. ;) Once again, I liked that the scent from the pail pal was not overly strong...just a pleasant scent to add a little bit of freshness to the diaper pail, and the bathroom in general.

No More Tears ~ And A Giveaway!

I had the chance to read Elizabeth Pantley's newest book, The No-Cry Nap Solution, straight off the press :) Having never read Elizabeth's books before, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Some parenting books can be a little over the edge, asking you to do crazy things that just SCREAM against everything you feel as a parent. This book is definitely a breath of fresh air!

For those of you who have read the other No-Cry books, you will be familiar with Elizabeth's gentle approach to parenting. She has the research to back it up too. Not to mention, it just makes sense. I didn't read anything that made me go 'hmmm'.

I hope to put this book to good use in the next while. Rowan is showing signs of no longer needing a nap every day, and it can be frustrating at times. Some days he sleeps so well, and other days it's a fight, and he refuses to sleep.

Here is short quote from the book that I found particularly useful:
"Even when a child no longer sleeps, it's still a great idea to have a daily quiet-time break from noise and activity. I call this the Hush Hour, which is a nap substitute..."
I have a feeling we'll be implementing this Hush Hour soon :) Until then, I have time to review the book and familiarize myself with how to gently get Rowan to have a few good naps each week.

There is plenty of information in this book for new babies as well. It can be surprising as a new parent to realize that nap sleep is much different than night sleep, yet it is so so important! I found the charts in the book to be very useful as well. Especially that chart that shows how many hours of sleep children need at different ages.

Overall, this book was an easy read, well organized, and a great resource for parents.
