Eco Friendly to the Max! ~ AND A GIVEAWAY!!

Are you a fan of eco-friendly products? Well, it seems that eco-friendly items of any type are a big hit now-a-days. People are eager to recycle, reuse, preserve, etc. Products that are better for your family or for the environment are rising up to the popularity chart fast! I, of course, love the eco-friendly products as well...and I recently discovered 2 great ones - both from BuySoapNuts.com. The first is a Safix Coconut Coir Fiber Scrub Pad. These scrub pads can be used for a huge variety of things...dishes, cleaning sinks, cleaning bathroom fixtures or other household articles and more. There are a ton of great benefits to using this coconut fiber scrub pad...

  • It's made from 100% coconut fiber bound together by a non-toxic adhesive
  • It will never rust, splinter or fall apart after just a few uses
  • It easily removes baked on, burnt and stubborn grease from your dishes
  • You will actually use less detergent
  • The pad will not develop a foul odor - ever - and is VERY hygenic
  • Every scrub pad is biodegradable and can be composted
  • It will never scratch your dishes (I LOVE that I can wash my non-stick items with this pad and not have to worry about any scratches)

  • I have been using my coconut scrub pad to wash my dishes, scrub out my sinks, etc. and it seems to work quite well! I'm impressed with the fact that it doesn't fall apart or lose it's shape, as well, I LOVE the fact that it never develops that 'stink' that other scrub pads and even dish cloths often have. However, I do find that I have to scrub harder with a coconut scrub pad than I do with my steel scrub pad in order to get the really tough stuff off of my dishes. However, with all the other benefits, it may still be just the extra scrubbing sometimes. :)

Now, on to the second great item...soapnuts! This is definitely something that I had never tried before. But I was definitely NOT sorry that I tried it! Soapnuts are used as laundry detergent, and these little soapnuts did not let me and my (too big!) piles of laundry down. My laundry definitely came out clean and fresh smelling. I even tested them on the ultimate load of dirty laundry...and big pail full of reallllly dirty diapers from the past day and a half and the results were amazing! Clean, nice smelling diapers...all from just a few soapnuts in the washing machine. Soapnuts laundry detergent contains NO added chemicals, dyes, fragrances, or fillers of any type. This is a huge plus for me, as I'm not a fan of any of the above things. In fact some of the really strong fragrances can trigger my allergies, so these are probably a great option for me...as well as for anyone who has skin allergies, excema, or any other reactions to normal detergents. Oh, and you can wash an unbelievable amount of laundry with these! A 100g bag of soap nuts can do up to 40 loads of laundry. So not only is this is an eco-friendly product, but it's a wallet-friendly product too. :)

    WIN IT!
BuySoapNuts.com has generously offered to give FIVE readers each a 100g bag of Soapnuts and 1 Coconut Fiber Scrub Pad. In order to get ONE entry, leave a comment on this post.

These products sound great! What an incredible find! Does the actual nut go in the wash or is it a soap made out of the nuts?

I've tried soapnuts and really liked them. I was really worried that my clothes weren't going to get clean but they didn't smell when they were finished and they were soft. My sample supply has ended. I'd love to get some more and to offer some to friends who are interested in them as well.
